  • Responsibilities

    HR Specialist The HR Specialist provides guidance on Human Resources operational issues and develops new programs and initiatives to meet management needs. Partners with management teams to facilitate the delivery of HR services as appropriate. Serves as contact for employees and answers questions regarding HR policies and procedures. * Responsible for supporting and updating the assigned functions/ locations on all employee relations matters. * Participates in project teams to develop and implement new HR programs. * Ensures compliance with employment legislation and handles any claims brought by employees. * Acts as a single point of the contact for the employees and managers, providing advice and support on a wide range of strategic and operational HR issues in the business unit. Education and Experience: * Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification. * Previous experience that provides the HR knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 2+ years) or equivalent combination of relevant HR education, training, & experience. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: * Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. * Ability to function as an effective and respected partner to internal clients. * Confidence to handle sensitive information and make sound recommendations. * Ability to coordinate multiple tasks while still delivering high quality results. * Good analytical and quantitative skills. * Strong written and oral communication skills especially with internal clients and key vendors. * Strong organizational and project administration skills. * Solid understanding of employment laws, principles and best practices. Working Conditions and Environment: * Work is performed in an office with exposure to electrical office equipment. * May occasionally travel to other locations for meetings. Physical Requirements: * Frequently stationary and/or moving for 6-8 hours per day. * Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. * Frequent mobility required. * Occasional crouching, stooping, bending and twisting of upper body and neck. * Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptop computer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs. * Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf. * Ability to communicate complex information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. * Frequently interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups both internally & externally. * Ability to apply abstract principles to solve complex conceptual issues. * Performs a wide range of semi-complex tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditions with little predictability as to the occurrence. Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task. * Regular and consistent attendance.
