    Job Description

    Summary of Internship

    This internship position in Process Engineering provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing a Chemical Engineering, or similar degree to get hands on experience working with engineers and scientist in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The intern will contribute to oligo manufacturing process improvement projects and lead validation activities.

    Essential Functions

    • Work in a team environment to develop, prepare and execute testing validation procedures to ensure that product manufactured meet internal company standards
    • Assist staff scientist and engineers in performing new product and process validation tests
    • Compile and analyze validation data, prepare reports, and make recommendations for changes and/or improvements
    • Proactively identify problems and provide feedback
    • Operate basic lab equipment, evaluate and troubleshoot test results, propose alternative choices and exercise independent judgment in selecting best solutions. Provide supporting data behind decisions
    • Balance multiple tasks. Demonstrate knowledge in the use of basic lab techniques, basic computer knowledge.
    • Accurately complete documentation reports (Verification, Validation, IQ/OQ/PQ, etc)
    • Contributes to team and builds stable internal and external working relationships
  • Qualifications
    • School Year: Senior – Junior
    • Chemical Engineering or related background
    • General chemistry or science knowledge preferred

    • 1 year of lab experience required ( may be obtained through work or school)
    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
    • Strong willingness to learn and be mentored
    • Accept candid feedback and look for areas of improvements
    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
    • Strong computer skills including familiarity with relevant software (Excel and Word) are required
