    LOCATION/DIVISION SPECIFIC INFORMATION

    Santa Clara, CA / Genetic Sciences Division

    HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

    The product engineer will be a member of the Technical Operations team at the Santa Clara, CA site supporting the Genetic Science Division (GSD) products. Specially focused on products from design to high volume production. The role will interface with R&D, operations, and contract manufacturers to ramp up capacity and aid in problem solving. The engineer will sustain products with cost reduction and yield improvements and has a specific focus on plastic precision molding and precision assembly processes. The role will be a primary technical contact between company and contract manufacturer of product line. The ideal candidate must excel in a fast-paced environment, is committed to quality and is driven by customer needs.     WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Executed technical investigations, troubleshooting of failures, process improvements, and validations at contract manufacturer.

    • Evaluates and validates technical changes to requirements

    • Oversees planning, validation, and implementation to manufacturing methods and processes for high precision products.

    • Responsible for refining specifications, driving improvements to QC and manufacturing techniques, performing technical investigations, and troubleshooting.

    • Responsible for implementing process control monitoring / trending

    • Responsible for establishing shipping studies and stability studies, and monitoring of products.

    • Prioritizes projects and resources based on business strategies

    • Provide regular status updates and report outs to stakeholders and leadership and recommendations to senior management

    • Leads and works effectively with cross-functional teams

    • Additional duties/responsibilities according to business needs

    HOW WILL YOU GET HERE?

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or engineering related field. Advanced degree preferred.

    • PPI training preferred.

    EXPERIENCE

    • 5-8 years of experience in Biotech or a related industry

    • 2-3 years leading projects and cross-functional teams

    • Experience in ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 820

    • Expertise in precision molding, precision assembly processes

    • Expertise in Process Capability / Six Sigma

    • Experience in assays, genetics, molecular bio, and assays

    • Experience with multiplexed PCR assays

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Strong collaboration, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal, written, and listening)

    • Solid analytical abilities, critical thinking, and problem solving

    • Proven expertise in precisions molding and assembly processes

    • Ability to convey technical concepts in a concise and effective manner

    • Strong project management skills

    • Adaptable with a willingness to learn

    • Experience with manufacturing/sustaining RUO products
