    SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP

    The Quality Assurance (QA) internship position provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing a degree in engineering to get hands on experience working with Quality Assurance in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. The Quality Assurance intern will contribute to cross-functional projects that are in the functional areas of Quality Engineering, Metrology, and / or Quality Laboratory in order to improve the associated production and process controls within a regulated industry (for medical devices) utilizing engineering and quality best practices. In addition, the individual will gain insight into the activities that the Quality Assurance team is responsible for from a day to day perspective. This will be accomplished by shadowing the functions within the Quality Assurance team in order to understand the role that Quality Assurance plays within the business. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team.
    • Willingness to learn about manufacturing processes and quality assurance through daily activities.
    • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve by accepting candid feedback Identify areas of opportunity to reduce waste and gain efficiencies through implementation of process improvements
    • Support a variety of Quality Assurance activities and may be assigned to a variety of tasks throughout the department that will be tailored to your experience level and abilities.
    • Willing to provide feedback on quality processes
    • Exceptional customer focus.
    • Desire to teach other Quality Assurance individuals about technology in area of expertise.
    • Performs other duties as needed.
  • Qualifications
    • Currently pursuing a Bachelors's degree in Chemical Engineering, Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or like engineering field.
    • General chemistry or greater science knowledge preferred.
    • Process and quality knowledge.

    To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.

    • Able to adjust to changing operating conditions quickly and efficiently and vary pace as required
    • Knowledge of computer applications and current software is desirable.
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
