    Job Description

    The Product Management Intern supports the global product strategy for the new Rapid DNA portfolio within the Human Identification Business Unit in the Genetic Sciences Division of Thermo Fisher Scientific. This position is an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing an MBA degree to get experience working in a fast-paced environment while interacting with Product Management, Sales, Marketing and Finance. Rapid DNA is a new technology that enables law enforcement agencies globally to solve crimes faster by generating a DNA profile in less than two hours with minimal hands-on time. The intern is responsible for developing a model to estimate the cost-effectiveness and the benefits for law enforcement agencies when adopting Rapid DNA over traditional crime scene DNA processing. The outcome of this work will help refine the Rapid DNA positioning and its value proposition to law enforcement agencies globally and strengthen the commercial strategy. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August.

    Essential Functions

    • Develop a strong understanding of the current sample processing workflow including costs and processing times
    • Engage with internal partners and customers to understand the needs of law enforcement agencies
    • Develop an analytical model to help calculate and communicate value and benefits of Rapid DNA to law enforcement agencies
    • Refine Rapid DNA positioning and value proposition
    • Partner with Marketing and Commercial team to develop customer messaging and selling strategy
  • Qualifications
    • An undergraduate degree in engineering, economics or psychology preferred
    • Student currently enrolled in an MBA degree program
