    REAL ESTATE AND FACILITIES SUMMER INTERN II

    SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP

    The Real Estate and Facilities Intern position will give the selected individual an overview of how a Fortune 175 company operates on a day to day basis by being part of real estate transactions, overview and updating of the real estate database and spending time learning how facilities operate on a day to day basis and participate in the capital budgeting thereof. THE POSITION STARTS IN JUNE, PAID WORKING 40 HOURS PER WEEK THROUGH AUGUST.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Provide support in updating real estate database for new campus names
    • Assist in preparation and report outs completed by real estate department on a quarterly basis. Make recommendations for improvements in regards to data preparation and presentation in the reporting package
    • Be involved in various real estate renewal projects to understand the process from negotiations to lease documentation review to internal approvals
    • Be involved with day to day activities of the facility team. Get an understanding of iOffice and help verify the data is correct and up to date.
    • Prepare daily facility check list for walking through facility and making sure all areas are clean and building systems operating properly
    • Assist in annual real estate file purge and sending of to outside storage
    • Accept candid feedback and look for areas of improvements
    • Specific tasks will be tailored to the intern’s experience level and abilities

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team

    • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve

    • Strong customer focus customer focus

    • Ability to want to learn about the real estate and facility field from the bottom up

    • Aptitude to make PowerPoint presentations and strong understanding of Excel.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to a real estate related degree
    • Basic understanding of Accounting and Finance preferred
