    Research Assistant Internship New - Durham, North Carolina, United States, RTI Headquarters (RTP Area) - Intern - SSES Education & Workforce Development - - 180F1 - Internship Description HR Directions seeks an intern for its client, RTI International for a Research Assistant Internship for summer 2018 within the Education and Workforce Development group in the Social, Statistical and Environmental Sciences unit. This internship will provide the successful prospect a mentored learning experience, and the opportunity to expand his/her classroom knowledge and skills within a professional setting. The Education and Workforce Development Group engages in research work that supports the betterment of education from birth through adulthood. A few of the areas they work in are longitudinal studies, program evaluations, educator development and support, and post-secondary data trends. The selected intern will assist with early childhood research, coordination of field activities for active studies, facilitating planning for client sponsored meetings and other research related tasks. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Follow education policy issues that impact EWDs diverse centers. The intern will share the issues, tweet about them for me, and help me post LinkedIn articles on them. - Contribute to the Project Lead the Way cognitive lab study. The intern will help collect, analyze, and summarize findings from our summer 2018 cognitive lab study. The study will evaluate new innovative assessment questions with students in multiple states. - Help write literature reviews for upcoming scientific publications by collecting papers and summarizing findings. - Attend presentations in RTI and network with researchers at RTI in domestic education, international education, and health. - Present at the August 2 Internship Showcase. Additional Information This paid internship, located in our Research Triangle Park office, will begin in June, 2018 through August, 2018. The internship requires a minimum commitment of 20 hours per week. Qualifications - Currently enrolled (advanced) undergraduate or graduate student, who studied or is studying one of the following fields: Anthropology, Biology, Business Administration, Chemistry, Communications, Education (including Higher Education), Engineering, English, Entrepreneurship, Environmental Sciences, History, Human Resources, International Relations, Leadership, Marketing, Political Science, Public Administration, Public Relations, etc. - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. - Excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
