    Job Description

    Riverside Research, one of America's premier not-for-profit providers of independent, trusted technical and scientific expertise, is seeking a full time open architecture enterprise architect in the Dayton, OH area. This position will develop technical solutions for new business opportunities in Open Architecture (OA) where the Engineering & Support Solutions (ESS) directorate can thrive, build relationships with current and future customers, provide oversight for the development of our OA technical staff, and leverage mission-focused knowledge on innovative solutions to our customer's challenges through collaboration with our technical teams. The OA Enterprise Architect position will be located at Riverside Research's Dayton Research Center in Dayton, OH. The OA Enterprise Architect will be responsible for intimately understanding Riverside Research's OA capabilities, expertise, and experience and for translating those capabilities into winning solutions for current and future opportunities. Qualified candidates will possess an active secret clearance with an ability to obtain and maintain a top secret clearance.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serve as technical authority for Open Architecture (OA) Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition and business development opportunities • Help to extend current OA business and develop new OA business with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the USAF, the DoD, and other Government agencies • Participate in the development and management of a multi-year business development roadmap and strategy for OA in a collaborative, multi-function, team environment • Execute the long-term technical strategy and vision to grow the OA portfolio • Create competitive differentiation for our offerings by ensuring that our OA offerings are best-in-class and innovative to win business and solve challenging problems • Evaluate customer/operational needs to architect our approach/solution for current and new business opportunities • Lead the preparation of whitepapers, proposals, demonstrations, and presentations and clearly communicate our unique technical value • Lead the future state visioning of existing and future OA standards including cybersecurity and cyber-resiliency of OA standards • Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation skills are a critical factor to success in this role • Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS), Computer Engineering (CE), Electrical Engineering (EE), Mathematics, or other related discipline • 5+ years' of relevant technical or research experience • Experience developing, refining, or expanding OA standards • Experience in software architecture and/or software design • Experience with DoD customers with an OA focus (e.g., AFRL, AFLCMC, etc.) • Experience developing technical strategies for capturing and securing contract awards from the USAF and/or other Government organizations • Experience with proposals/whitepapers, strategy development, and Government acquisition/contracting • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships with all levels of an organization • Demonstrated ability to work independently and work effectively in a dynamic team environment • Ability to document work and make effective presentations to customers • Demonstrated technical problem solving, organization, coordination, and planning skills • Demonstrated understanding of program management processes • Active secret security clearance status • Ability to support occasional travel

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's or PhD in electrical, systems, computer engineering or related discipline • Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple, concurrent tasks with minimal supervision • Experience with open-source software and networking tools • Experience with OA frameworks and methodologies • Experience developing/refining Open Architecture (OA) standards • Experience with OA tool development • Experience using Agile software development • Experience with cybersecurity and cyber-resiliency of OA standards • Experience with the Future Airborne Capability Environment (FACE) technical standard • Experience with the Sensor Open Systems Architecture (SOSA) standard • Experience with the REDHAWK framework for Software-Defined Radios (SDRs) • Experience with Open Component Portability Infrastructure (OpenCPI) open-source software • Experience with the Modular Open Radio Frequency Architecture (MORA) standard • Experience with VITA standards (e.g., VITA 49.2 and OpenVPX) • Experience with avionics architectures • Active top secret security clearance
