    JOB SUMMARY

    The Wright Center for Community Health and its affiliated entity The Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education, a non-profit, community-based graduate medical education consortium and safety net provider has an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatrist. The Wright Center has been on the forefront of integrating behavioral health into primary care.     ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS

    PSYCHIATRY DUTIES:

    • Be a resource for the primary care physicians
    • Supervise nurse practitioner
    • Attend administrative and clinic meetings and provide in-service education as appropriate
    • Assist in the job shadow portion of the interview process or orientation of new staff when requested
    • Provision of full range of psychiatric services to assigned patients. Services provided include direct care of patients in the clinical setting including: assessment, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of patients and determining the degree of disabilities in patients.
    • Psychiatrist will prescribe medication to patients as deemed necessary and will conduct medication management.
    • All services to be documented in the patient’s electronic medical record.
    • Analyze and evaluate patient data and test findings to diagnose nature and extent of mental disorder.
    • Prescribe, direct, and administer psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders.
    • Collaborate with physicians, social workers, psychiatric nurses, or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
    • Gather and maintain patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives, and other professionals.
    • Examine or conduct laboratory or diagnostic tests on patient to provide information on general physical condition and mental disorder.
    • Participates in treatment team activities to include the development and periodic review of patient treatment plans and will take necessary steps when a patient refuses treatment.
    • Subject to on-call responsibilities as assigned.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    FACULTY DUTIES:

    • Precept residents in outpatient clinic and inpatient setting
    • Lead 8-10 resident didactic conferences per academic year; if leading noon conference this counts as two conferences. Conference requirement may change based schedule.
    • Direct involvement in completion of resident evaluations and ensure evaluations are completed in a timely manner; inclusive of direct observation requirements.
    • Participate in scholarly activities as it relates to care delivery and performance and programmatic improvement
    • Participate in annual program evaluation
    • Participate in curriculum development as requested
    • Assist in monitoring resident stress, with the goal of identifying mental or emotional conditions that inhibit performance and/or learning and advise the Associate Program Director and/or Program Director.
    • Actively participate in recruitment process, review candidates, interviews and selection of residents. When asked, attend recruitment fairs to recruit locally, regionally and nationally
    • Participate in orientation and graduation ceremony
    • Practice as a psychiatrist and teacher within TWCCH mutually agreed with 32 hours of patient care per week
    • Actively participate in preparation and maintenance of ACGME and AOA IM Program accreditation
    • Model and promote physician professionalism
    • Timely completion of patient care documentation in the outpatient and required resident evaluations and direct observation assessments as assigned
    • Actively mentor a number of trainees and oversee learner driven portfolio
    • Participate in Academic societies in order to enhance your educational skills.
    • Must complete annual ACGME faculty survey.
    • Achieve and maintain Board certification, CMES, ACLS/BLS certification
    • Demonstrate compliance and highest integrity with industry recognized billing practices
    • Promote/demonstrate scholarly work; which includes uploading scholarly work in My Evaluations software.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • MD/DO Degree
    • Graduate Medical Education in an ACGME Accredited Psychiatric Residency Program
    • Current certification by the Board of Psychiatry or possess qualifications acceptable to the Review Committee
    • DEA Certification
    • Valid physician license for State of Pennsylvania
    • CPR Certification
