Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking high school students with an interest in a STEM career to intern with us this summer.
YEAR:
Entering your Junior or Senior year of High School or have recently graduated High School and are transitioning to a 2 or 4 year academic institution
DESCRIPTION:
Intern’s main responsibility will be assisting the engineering, manufacturing and R&D teams with new, existing and ongoing project work for the business. Intern’s main responsibilities may include:
Project management
Utilizing existing tools and systems to manage and update current work standards
Building rapport with key decision makers on future projects
Perform other duties and project support as assigned
Embedded C++/C Linux application development}
Design, implement and test software
Schematics review for hardware driver development
Source control systems (SVN/Git), bug tracking databases (Bugzilla) and testing framework
Agile Sprint team member in the Software Engineering group using Jira
REQUIREMENTS:
Results oriented through initiative, ownership and accountability
It is required that the candidate has the ability to manage multiple tasks, has good judgement, and prioritizes tasks and time effectively
The ideal candidate will have a commitment to continuous learning, show career progression and development, and seek opportunities to stretch capabilities
Excellent skill with MS Excel, MS Access, and MS PowerPoint are required
