    Summary of Internship

    The Service & Support Internship position provides an opportunity for students who are currently pursuing a business or science degree to get hands on experience working within a sales team in a fast-paced environment. The service & support sales intern will contribute to updating and maintaining accurate equipment records, analyzing data, uncovering new sales leads and driving incremental revenue growth for the business. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August.

    What will you do?

    The Global Service & Support segment of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Life Sciences Group has an exciting opportunity to expand the reach of our service contract offerings and help drive revenue growth within our division. The Service & Support Intern will align and drive the following guiding principles of sales execution:

    Key responsibilities:

    • Update and maintain accurate equipment records for install base
    • Find new customer contact information for instrumentation with missing contacts
    • Generate new sales leads through outbound telephone calls
    • Follow up on marketing leads
    • Capitalize on training opportunities to develop in depth knowledge of service and support offerings (Service contracts and support plans, time and materials billable services, field application training, bioinformatics and compliance services) in order to proactively uncover new opportunities
    • Utilize data sources to analyze and develop sales opportunities with the greatest ROI.
    • Support marketing programs as assigned by the Sales Manager.
    • Complete assigned tasks and reports in a timely and complete manner while maximizing productivity during key selling time.
