The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part time during the school year and full time during the summer. If you are an enthusiastic team player who wishes to immediately apply your academic knowledge in assisting our engineers and are currently attending college or university majoring in Electrical Engineering we invite you to apply now! Responsibilities * Provide support to engineering staff as needed. * Follow engineering quality assurance procedures. * Work in a safe, healthful and environmentally sound manner, report accidents and unsafe conditions promptly, and perform ergonomic exercises to reduce likelihood of injuries. * Document and communicate test results using spreadsheets, database programs and CASE tools. * Continuously identify, measure, and improve processes. * Understand, create, simplify processes. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications * Two to three years undergraduate studies in electrical engineering * Working knowledge of modern test equipment, digital oscilloscope and signal generator * Ability to conduct and document defined testing procedures * Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills * Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities * Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment * Background check results satisfactory to SEL * Negative drug test result(s) Preferred Qualifications * Experience in programming and script files * Practical knowledge of 3-phase power systems * Working knowledge of emulators and logic analyzers * Ability to use MS Windows and serial port terminal emulation software Location Information This position is located in Houston, TX.
