Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a dedicated individual who desires continual growth and learning in power system protection. You will become part of our Application Engineer team in Michigan providing exceptional technical support to our utility and industrial customers. You will teach our customers how to apply our products, supporting our mission to make electric power safer, more reliable, and more economical. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain and improve knowledge of power systems, focus area*,and all related SEL products.
2. Help customers apply SEL products through visits, demonstrations, training courses and telephone contact.
3. Contribute to product specifications, application and testing software, and literature.
4. Participate in SEL marketing and sales activities and industry technical meetings and conferences.
5. Teach in training schools for customers and SEL personnel.
6. Maintain customer database for customer application and quality information.
7. Continuously identify, measure, follow, and improve marketing, sales, and engineering quality procedures.
8. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS B.S. in Electrical Engineering, equivalent degree, or equivalent work experience 3 years experience in power systems, industry practices, and focus area* Completion of SEL Engineering Development Program or equivalent work experience Proven technical training, speaking, writing, and customer service skills Ability to direct daily work activities with general supervision Ability to travel 25-35% Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment Background check results satisfactory to SEL Negative drug test result(s) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS M.S. in Electrical Engineering, with emphasis in focus area* Published application guides Experience using SEL products Focus Area = Protection PROTECTION = SYSTEM PROTECTION, PROTECTIVE RELAYS AND THEIR APPLICATIONS, SETTINGS, AND TESTING PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS None
