    Scientist III, Molecular Biology

    We are seeking a strong candidate to work with a multidisciplinary team of engineers and molecular biologists. The responsibilities will include leading qPCR/dPCR projects that result in new applications and performance improvements. The projects include applications for existing as well as new product platforms. Duties will include but are not limited to leading and executing studies on various qPCR/dPCR and sample preparation platforms, designing assays, analyzing, and presenting results. This individual will be working closely with molecular biologists and system engineers and to have background knowledge of the related fields. Additionally, this individual needs to have strong verbal and written communication skills.

    Education:

    • Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or other related fields

    • M.S. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, or other related fields with 5-10 years of working experience in the biotechnology industry

    • B.S degree with 10+ years of relevant working experience

    Experience/ Skills:

    • An independent individual with a deep understating of bioinformatics and extensive experience with qPCR assay development for genetic analysis

    • Proficient with JMP, R, or similar tools for statistical analysis and visualization

    • Experience with a variety of laboratory instrumentation for qPCR or dPCR, sample preparation, and automation

    • Demonstrate good laboratory practices and accurate/precise pipetting techniques

    • Possess good written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to prepare and communicate technical information to a wide range of audiences

    Initial Responsibilities:

    • Independently design and perform qPCR or dPCR experiments to screen variables and optimize workflows

    • Write detailed SOPs, analyze data, and generate reports

    • Troubleshoot instrument and workflow failures

    The ideal candidate will be:

    •Proficient with developing and optimizing genetic analysis workflows

    •Deep understanding of bioinformatics and available resources/tools for designing assays

    •Experienced in leading qPCR or dPCR assay development and instrumentation projects

    •Experienced with current molecular biology techniques for qPCR or dPCR and nucleic acid purification/ preparation

    •Motivated and demonstrate adaptability to work in a fast-paced team environment

    •Resourceful and flexible with strong troubleshooting skills

    •Maintains a detailed and organized lab notebook

    •Embraces diversity of culture and thought
