    JOB TITLE – Guided Configuration tool - Software Development Intern

    SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP

    The Software Development Internship position provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing a computer science, computer engineering, or like engineering degree to get hands on experience working with engineers in a fast-paced software design and software environment. The software intern will contribute to defining and developing digital selling solutions such as guided configuration and quoting tools. The intern will work with CMD business, Digital Engineering and multiple IT eco-systems and application teams to deliver transformative digital selling capabilities.

    We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive candidate, who will work collaboratively with team members, actively participate in discussions, decisions and all project activity. The position starts in June, paid working 40 hours per week through August. Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Understand and document existing complex business/system processes backed by data analysis

    • Work with various product team members, functional PoC and system experts to define interfaces between the systems

    • Document future commercial business process flow and high-level system flow

    • Analyze and document data quality gaps

    • Perform System Integration Testing, facilitate User Acceptance Testing, and Quality Assurance Testing

    • Deploy tested and approved solutions and transition to the Support & Operations team

    SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team in an Agile environment
    • Willingness to learn, be mentored, and improve
    • Desire to contribute and improve design of new and existing scientific instrumentation products
    • Familiarity with Front-end and back end engineering, Web development, data engineering and data science
    • Familiarity with of least one software development tool set such as C#, HTML and RPA Tools
    • Aptitude for writing software programs

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Engineering Degree

    • Previous Internship Experience

    • Software development experience (.NET, OCR, PowerShell, Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML, C or SQL)
