    2018 Fall Internship - Sporting Fields + Athletics Sporting Kansas City 18 reviews - Kansas City, KS 66111 Internship POSITION SUMMARY The Sporting Fields + Athletics Operations Intern will assist in orchestrating day to day logistics with the Operations Coordinator at each Sporting Fields + Athletics property. This individual will help maintain and operate world-class facilities and all its assets. This includes training centers, facility utilities, and fields. This internship requires applicable college credit and is typically 15-30 hours weekly (depending on class schedule). Prior operations/facilities experience not required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Ensure facility is operating according to the mission, vision and values of Sporting KC. Act as an additional point of contact for Sporting Fields + Athletics special events (National/Regional Events, Lacrosse, Rugby, Frisbee and Soccer Tournaments/Leagues). Work with the USL Swope Park Rangers (Minor League Soccer Team) and Academy teams for any facility needs or requests. Assist in coordinating practice, meetings, and soccer operations between all departments. Responsible for helping with facility set up, breakdown, and maintenance. Plan, create, and execute special projects with Operations Coordinator/Facilities Manager. Be the liaison to third-party vendors and coordinate any work that needs to be completed on-site. Help update and keep relevant a variety of operational schedules, plans and procedures through innovative new school approaches. Be present at department meetings to discuss Sports/Facility Operation workplace trends, attend trainings, and strategize for future SF+A functions. When needed, help at other Sporting Club properties. Represent Sporting Kansas City in a professional manner at all times. Perform other related tasks as assigned. PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Self-motivated.
