    HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?

    Our rapidly growing microfluidics team needs a product development specialist capable of systematically quantifying every aspect of our next generation digital PCR plastic consumable from microstructure dimensions to overall performance. We're seeking a results-oriented technical lead eager to advance new product solutions through product lifecycle stages in a fast-paced environment.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO?

    • Drive microfluidic consumables development from part design to large-scale manufacturing

    • Utilize range of analytical measurement tools to establish metrology and quality control methods (e.g. CMM, confocal microscopy, SEM, custom setups, non-optical methods)

    • Define requirements and technical specifications, systematically design and execute experiments, and ensure reliable product performance

    • Manage international manufacturing partners

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with assay and analytical instrumentation development teams to conduct platform-level troubleshooting, analysis, and validation

    • Lead failure investigations and resolve in a timely manner

    • Directly engage with Operations to facilitate smooth transition of product into manufacturing

    • Travel domestically or internationally (expect 15% of the time) to support project needs

    How will you get here?

    EDUCATION

    • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomedical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience leading product development projects for analytical life science or medical device instrumentation.

    • Will consider MS with 2+ years, or PhD with 1+ year of industry experience

    EXPERIENCE

    • Design for Excellence (DFX), product life cycle and risk management, keeper of detailed design records

    • Part assembly/fixture design and test method development including proficiency in CAD design software is required

    • Experience with various analytical/metrology instruments to characterize materials and dimensions from microstructures to part assemblies is required

    • Strong understanding of plastic material systems and microfluidics design and development preferred

    • Validation of a variety of equipment and processes used to build life science products, particularly ISO 13485 and FDA QSR experience preferred

    • Technical writing and documentation generation with effective written and verbal communication to a broader team

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES

    • Must have excellent experimental design, data analysis / visualization, and problem-solving skills, including ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize and navigate through multiple and changing programs/projects

    • Has proficient understanding of biotechnology tools, workflows, and chemistry in digital PCR, qPCR, CE Sanger sequencing, microarray, or sample preparation

    • Has demonstrated successful delivery of RUO and/or IVD products with a detailed understanding of quality systems

    • Can network across a global matrixed environment
