    Summary of Internship

    The intern will have three assignments affording him or her exposure to various marketing functions and cultivating well-rounded marketing experience. One assignment will be focused on programs and promotions where the intern will gain experience with strategic planning, customer service and process improvement. Specifically in this assignment, the intern may determine what promotional offers are most impactful, perform competitive analysis, manage customer inquiries, and assist in pre-planning for strategic programs and recommend solutions to reduce waste in executional processes related to promotions.

    In the second assignment, the intern will gain experience in tactical marketing planning, project management, project management software and working with creative and digital marketing teams. In this assignment, the intern will manage the delivery of marketing tactics by submitting work requests through the project management system, engage in tactical planning meetings with cross-functional teams to determine the optimal marketing mix based on goals and objectives and manage tactical marketing calendars.

    In the third assignment, the intern will gain experience in conducting marketing performance analysis and reporting. In this assignment, the intern will work in reporting tools such as Power BI and Adobe Analytics to build and pull reports, develop supplier-facing report-outs for quarterly marketing performance, identify areas of success and opportunity and make recommendations to optimize go-forward marketing.

    These three assignments, while adding tremendous value to the team, will provide the intern an opportunity to experience the full lifecycle of marketing strategy and execution.

    Essential Functions

    The intern will have the opportunity to engage in almost a quarter’s worth of marketing activity. As such, and also given that the engagement spans the marketing lifecycle, the intern will have some activities that are similar day to day throughout, but others will be more concentrated over the course of just a few weeks.

    Over the course of the internship, daily work could entail reviewing performance data to draw conclusions or make recommendations, gathering content or requirements for and submitting projects to be worked on by the creative team, collaboration and communication with creative and digital marketing teams to ensure seamless planning and production of marketing tactics, communication with customers and internal teams to resolve issues with promotion redemptions, building reports and report-out presentation materials and preparing process documentation.

    • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Communications

    To qualify, applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and should not require, now or in the future, sponsorship for employment visa status.
