We are seeking an energetic, responsible intern to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be expected to learn the ins-and-outs of our daily routines and procedures. You will focus on learning how our organization runs, and can be expected to gain valuable insight that can further your interest in your chosen career field.

    SUMMARY OF INTERNSHIP

    The operations/supply chain position provides an opportunity for engineering students who are currently pursuing a supply chain or like engineering degree to get hands on experience working with direct management in a fast-paced operations/distribution environment. The distribution intern will contribute to process improvement projects and key lean practices. THE POSITION STARTS IN MAY OR JUNE, PAID WORKING 40 HOURS PER WEEK THROUGH AUGUST. Opportunity exists for this position to continue through the academic year on a part-time basis to allow for class schedules.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • Implement improvement ideas generated by self or other team members (manage from genesis to completion)
    • Capture and display metrics related to daily, monthly, quarterly, and annually performance.
    • Work with team members daily on multiple projects with strong adherence to timelines and details
    • Conduct data mining activities, analysis, and results presentations to drive improvements
    • Create project presentations and help team members on floor by coaching on presentation techniques
    • Assist with 5S implementation and Kaizen Events
    • May be required to perform other related duties as required and/or assigned
  • Qualifications
    • Student currently enrolled in classes leading to an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain, Engineering or Business discipline
    • Supply chain or operations experience/programs

    • Experience with 5S, Lean Operations, Six Sigma, and Process Maps a plus
    • The candidate will be highly motivated, can work both independently and in teams, and will demonstrate strong organizational skills
