The Air-Conditioning Technicians are responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing of air-conditioning equipment. They can even do heating or refrigeration work, as they are trained to work on both heating and cooling units, including motors, switches, pumps, wiring, thermostats and fans.
TASKS/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for:
- Install, maintain and repair heating, ventilation, and cooling units for both commercial and residential customers. Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
- Work with dispatch to ensure schedule is maintained and delays are properly communicated to customer.
- Maintain and or inform stores keeper of low stock in inventory, example; parts, tools, and safety equipment.
- Signoff on all jobs carryout during shift including assigned work orders
- Document all installed equipment, including new installation: make, model, serial number, type of fuel, necessary test measurements, and pictures as necessary.
- Diagnose diverse service issues, obtain any replacement parts, calibrate system to manufacturer’s recommendations, and explain fully to customer what the issue is and what is need to correct.
- Participate in company provided training opportunities on latest industry technologies.
- Identify and report to your manager where newer system and additional maintenance is required.
- Maintain Freon dispensing records to meet requirements
- Any other duties that may be assigned by your manager from time to time.
Required Skills
- Possess good analytical skills and attention to detail with ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
- Must have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Must be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
- Excellent customer service skills with desire to exceed customer expectations.
- Working knowledge of safety principles
- Knowledge of electrical standards for installation and repairs
- Aptitude for mathematics and science
- Knowledge about computerized systems
- A proactive learner with an interest in the latest technology
- Must speak and understand English.
- Willing to work weekends.
- Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
Required Experience
Five to seven years experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting and correcting diverse HVAC service issues for a resort or similar setting.
