JOB DESCRIPTION: 

Team is looking for a Software Development Engineer. who will enable tech readiness for Ultra-Fast Grocery launches and 3P brands on UFG around the world. We are focused on automating existing processes so we can launch rapidly and at scale, thus reducing tech effort. Our team is on the frontline of expanding Ultra-Fast Grocery (UFG) to new customers in new marketplaces. We've launched UFG in the US, UK, Germany, Italy, Spain, and more countries are on the way. Today, it takes an extraordinary amount of time to launch UFG and new brands. Given the dire need to support online grocery shopping due to COVID, and the alternatives to client that exist, we are just not moving fast enough. As a developer on the team you'll drive improvements to our technology, collaborating with sharp engineers and highly-engaged users to ship code continuously. We're truly an agile shop: we work closely with users, deliver features with high frequency, can pivot on a dime when needed, and are aggressive about test coverage, refactoring and paying off technical debt.

TOP 3 MUST-HAVE HARD SKILLS:

• Strong in Java, Python, Pearl, React
• Understanding distributed technologies
• Experience with AWS, built any type or Archestration work flow type systems, takes info to and from services,

TEAM CULTURE: 

Almost start up team, never had tech team dedicated to this type of work. Made up of program manager, they deliver though and have drive. Wine tasting fun nights, Partners are international, openness to global partners. Will be central tech team, expectation relationships stacks as needed. 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

The ideal candidate is interested in a career in software development and is looking to utilize and expand their coding skills and gain exposure to a wide variety of software applications. 

They must be detail oriented, have superior verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, are able to work independently and can maintain professionalism under pressure. 

PREFERRED CODING SKILLS: 

• Perl, C/C++ and/or Java. 
• 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems. 
• A Computer Science or equivalent technical degree and 2-5 years of relevant experience is required
