    Washington, DC, USA 14.00 Hourly Part Time sick leave, transportation benefits The National Bureau of Asian Research (NBR) is seeking a part-time Publications Intern (12 hours per week). This paid internship runs from March 1, 2019, to May 31, 2019 . The Publications Internship offers recent graduates with a bachelor's degree and current MA and PhD students the opportunity to acquire professional experience in publishing while working at a nonprofit research institution that focuses on U.S. policy toward the Asia-Pacific. The Publications Intern will support the Publications Director in the Washington, D.C., office and assist with editing NBR publications. Responsibilities Assisting with formatting and fact-checking manuscripts Assisting with proofreading for the NBR Special Reports series and Asia Policy journal Assisting with copyediting and proofreading online content Providing general office support for other NBR activities, including answering the phones Qualifications Bachelor's degree Strong written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word Positive work ethic and the ability to work both independently and as part of a group Interest in editing/publishing; interest in Asia studies and international relations is a plus Familiarity with The Chicago Manual of Style is a plus Application Process The deadline to apply is Sunday , January 27, 2019 .
