The Intern Marketing will support the following business unit: PERSONAL CARE Some of the worlds largest companies and strongest brands count on the unique advantages of teaming with Tredegar Personal Care: manufacturing excellence, process and product innovation, customer insights and global product capability. Todays consumers are demanding higher levels of softness, comfort, fit, skin care and fluid management for baby diapers, adult incontinence and feminine hygiene products. Extensive knowledge of global consumer preferences allows Tredegar to provide developers with unique products to satisfy consumer needs. Innovations are driving improvements in the performance of feminine hygiene, baby diaper, and adult incontinence products in a noticeable way. The Internship will be based out of Richmond, VA and the hourly rate will be $14.60/hr or if an MBA candidate, $15.50/hr 40 hours a week. JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of the Global Market Development Director, the Intern -Marketing will perform a range of functions in support of global market research in assessing personal care market segments in diapers, feminine hygiene, adult incontinence and other ancillary markets. These assessments include market size, market growth, market niches, market pricing, competitor analysis including competitor cost modeling, market trends, consumer demand, consumer needs and product gaps, understanding product attributes, consumer product pricing and product life cycles. This position requires a combination of strong market analytical skills, ability to peel back the layers, project management skills, financial analysis, attention to detail, good interpersonal and communication skills working with third parties, strong Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, etc. In addition, the position requires a working knowledge of analytical and statistics tools used market analysis and planning. This position will require interfacing (telephone, email, web communications and face-to-face meetings) with customers, third-party industry consultants, marketing service providers, sales & marketing personnel and higher-level company executives. Some international travel will be required to attend industry seminars, trade shows and visiting customers. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Partnering with product management, commercial sales to assist in determining product development direction. 2. Collaborate with cross functional teams to include R&D, operations and finance to understand product design, manufacturing and profitability estimates. 3. Assist in the development and design of marketing campaigns and materials. 4. Develop market analytical skills. 5. Evaluate the organizations social media presence and present recommendations for improvement. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES * Enrolled Junior or Senior in an accredited institution with a field of study in Marketing, Marketing Research, Marketing Analytics or another related program OR * Enrollment or acceptance into an accredited institution for an MBA. * Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
