Job Description

The Operator 3 (ULF Operator) is responsible for safely operating forklifts to place finished palletized product into designated storage locations. This role operates palletizers and stretch wrappers, performs basic troubleshooting and adjustments to keep equipment running efficiently, and ensures machines are properly stocked with pallets and wrap. The Operator 3 completes all required material movement documentation, production counts, and tracking to maintain inventory accuracy via system-based transactions. This position must also be able to perform the duties of the Production Worker and Receiver as needed.

1. Forklift operations
2. Operation of palletizers and stretch wrappers—includes troubleshooting and making basic mechanical adjustments to equipment and supplying with consumable materials (pallets/wrap)
3. Placing palletized materials into the storage racks—includes completion of required material movement/tracking paperwork and production counting
4. Maintain forklifts by performing daily inspections, changing of batteries, watering of batteries
5. Follow all safety and environmental rules and regulations applicable to position.
6. Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP requirements
7. Rotating shift position (1st, 2nd, 3rd)
8. Maintain housekeeping of assigned work areas

Qualifications

Education:

Minimum of high school diploma or GED required.

Related Experience:

Experience in food preparation or industrial setting preferred

Equipment/Software Skills:

Position requires basic computer operation skills, i.e. use of “point and click” programs. Required to have sufficient understanding of the ERP system, which includes efficiently operating the M3 scanner to conduct inventory and reconcile records.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

Forklift/Industrial Truck certification preferred.

Additional Information

Physical: This position requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climb stairs, bend, kneel, stand for extended periods, work in confined spaces, work at heights and must be able to wear a respirator.

Sensory: Ability to hear, see, speak, smell and touch well is necessary to perform basic essential tasks.

Mental/Reasoning : Must be able to analyze information quickly to provide feedback in the manufacturing process and troubleshoot equipment failures
