UL's Fremont, CA location is seeking an IT Intern who can work 15-20 hours per week during the summer and school year. Responsibilities The Intern will maintain information technology equipment by analyzing requirements, resolving problems, and installing hardware and software solutions. * Establishes and upgrades information technology systems by installing standard hardware and software with established procedures. * Resolves problems by gathering required information, researching and documenting issues, answering questions and seeking additional help as needed. * Performs activities based on assignments from problem management system and direct supervisor. * Updates problem management system with work performed and forwards or closes tickets as appropriate. * Improves system performance by investigating problems and integrating standard solutions. At times will perform help-desk function for internal and remote users. * Maintains installation records by documenting procedures used. Maintains quality service by enforcing organizational standards. * Performs other duties as directed. * Basic knowledge of PC hardware and components, LANs, cabling techniques, applicable operating systems, software, Internet technologies, and E-mail systems. * Demonstrated ability to problem solve, think analytically, and follow documented troubleshooting procedures. * Strong interpersonal communication, customer sercive and documentation skills when dealing with clients. Qualifications Higher Secondary Education (High School Diploma).
