    What will you do?

    Perform metrology testing for new, transferred or significantly repaired molds. Assist with First Article, Start-up and Material Test Inspections. Assist with the implementation and managing of continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes to working practices and processes. Essential Job Functions

    • Perform metrology testing for process and product validations.
    • Ability to read and understand validation protocols, Part Drawings and Product Quality Requirements.
    • Support laboratory staff by maintaining files, records and other documents that apply to laboratory records. Complete and maintain appropriate product documentation and testing records per in-house testing procedures and in accordance with ISO 13485 standards.
    • Identify non-conformances during daily testing and reports them.
    • Assist with verification and validation protocol reviews.
    • Assist in maintaining lab and equipment for safety, operability and cleanliness by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns and calling for repairs.
    • Collaborate with other Laboratory technicians or other departments to identify and resolve quality issues in a timely manner.
    • Clear communication with Laboratory supervisor to determine resources needed, prioritize work and ensure critical requirements are met.
    • Maintains safe work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
    • Demonstrates leadership and plan effectively.
  • Qualifications

    How will you get there?

    Education

    High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Experience

    • 3+ years’ experience in a QA metrology role or 5+ years’ experience in quality inspection preferably in a manufacturing environment.
    • Prior experience with standard metrology equipment: proficient using calipers, CMM, optical inspection equipment, vision system, microscope, gauge pins, etc.
    • Experience with plastic materials.
    • Previous experience with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), ISO standards and Lean Manufacturing concepts.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    • Ability to organize and track multiple concurrent projects and deliverables.
    • Proper use of precision measuring tools, equipment and gauges. Ability to understand blueprints; visualization, dimensions and tolerances.
    • Uses calipers, optical comparator, gauges, centrifuge, manual pipettes, vision system (vertex) and CMM to measure and inspect a sampling of products.
    • Careful, detailed, thorough work ethic with ability to see and communicate big picture impact(s)
    • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed work instructions; inclination to improve documentation is a plus
    • Commitment to excellence and high standards.Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and seek out collaboration.
    • Computer literate – Must be able to develop, analyze and present data developed from the use of the computer including Microsoft Office.
    • Ability to balance working independently and asking questions when in doubt.
    • Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills
    • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.
    • Demonstrate leadership & plan effectively
    • Willingness to be trained and to train and develop the team as required and to assist with mentoring new hires and apprentices.
