Office Location: Paramus, NJ (No relocation offered)

Internship Length: 3-6 months and could potentially lead to longer term or full-time position.

Position Purpose:

The Data Democratization Program internship with the Environmental Solutions & Services domain in Veolia North America gives the ideal candidate hands-on experience in the field of Data Management. The ideal candidate will get the opportunity to work with the Data Team learning real-world concepts in Data Management and Data Analysis areas.

Internships/Co-Ops are focused on learning and exposure to fundamental business processes and procedures.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

• Data Analysis * Problem-solving and analytical understanding for statistics and data. * Technical skills and competency in using data analytics software like Tableau, PowerBI, etc. * Identifying trends and generating insights by conducting routine analyses of Veolia’s various data systems. * Communicate key findings to various stakeholders to facilitate data-driven decision making or storytelling. * Recognize key metrics and build high-level dashboards to track the progress of those metrics and its highest priority initiatives. * Aggregate data from various sources to construct streamlined data pipelines and integrate data from multiple Veolia systems.
• Operational Support * Provide support as needed to other internal teams when specific projects involving data analysis arises. * Continuously strive for ways to improve operational efficiency, develop reports, and maintain spreadsheets/data metrics to monitor, track, and evaluate performance. * Research data integrity issues and identifying root causes or inconsistencies and required cleanup. * Support and provide technical assistance for inquiries and issues. * Triage and track internal and external data requests.
• Executes tasks directly related to functional projects and/or process improvements.
• Communicates issues and roadblocks related to areas of responsibility.
• May assist in research or special projects in a variety of areas in order to fulfill business initiatives and meet business objectives.
• May be asked to prepare and deliver insights and recommendations based on analyses.
• Produces findings and draws conclusions from analyses. Makes oral and written recommendations to the team.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

• Working towards a four year degree and you have Junior or Senior status in a related major (i.e. Data Science, Data Analysis).
• 3.2 Cumulative G.P.A required.

Physical Requirements:

Environments vary by Internship/Co-Op function from office to field to plant. Our aim is to provide tangible industry job experience to each intern. While we may extend offers to some interns/co-ops, there is no guarantee of a job offer at the end of the work period.
