    BENEFITS

    Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental and vision insurance. Pay and benefits for employees represented by a union are outlined in their collective bargaining agreement.

    Position Purpose:

    The Benefits Administrator is the is escalation point of contact for health & welfare and retirement issues originating from the People Services Group. The Benefits Administrator has a focus on retirement plan operations and works as a back up to the health and welfare Sr. Benefits Administrator.

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Respond to escalated issues from the People Services Group regarding employee questions on Benefits, Retiree Benefits, COBRA, Disability, 401(k) and Pension.
    • Participate in weekly meetings with vendors as the primary contact to resolve issues.
    • Work with the HR Systems Team to make updates and changes to the benefits administration and payroll systems annually for open enrollment as well as troubleshooting issues throughout the year.
    • Train the Shared Services Team members on all areas of benefits and retirement to best support employee inquiries.
    • Update the team on changes that are implemented by the Total Rewards Team.
    • Work with the Total Rewards Team through complicated issues and projects related to employee benefits and retirement.
    • Manage 401(k) and HSA funding and reconcile issues with vendor and payroll as needed.
    • Support Open Enrollment activities such as answer phone calls and questions, contact vendors with escalated issues, distribute materials, and troubleshoot issues in the benefits administration system.
    • Oversee transition of employees from active to retiree status. Assist in organizing paperwork and communications for retiree open enrollment as well as ongoing elections.
    • Assist with payment of vendor bills through A/P system, reconcile issues and track and record all payments in an Excel worksheet.
    • Oversee administration of other voluntary benefits, life insurance claims and total rewards programs (e.g., tuition reimbursement).
    • Other special projects and administrative duties as needed.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience/Background:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience.
    • 2+ years experience in human resources required or related fields.

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    • Strong computer skills required, especially in Excel, HRIS systems, Case Management tools.
    • Ability to problem solve/research questions.
    • Must use independent judgement/expertise to determine root cause of issues and recommend solutions.
    • Ability to manage projects to completion.
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
    • Excellent communication skills, over the phone and in writing.
    • Maturity in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
