    Job Description

    The objective of the BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR/SALES ADMIN position is to support the business development team in creating winning opportunities with new customers and strategic accounts that lead to long-term, integrated, energy and facilities management services. This inside support position is an excellent opportunity for a highly self-motivated creative thinker to advance the Global mission of sustainability, and a more resilient planet, by contributing to the Facilities and Building Services team. The position also provides an opportunity to grow your career in Veolia’s broader commercial organization. The position will be part of a focused team of professionals who build relationships with prospects and use Veolia offers to create sustainable value across the spectrum of water, waste and energy initiatives throughout the built environment. 

    PRIMARY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • The primary responsibility is to support the activities of the Business Development team by conducting research, developing written content, qualifying as a client vendor, preparing proposals and qualification submittals, and building brand recognition in the markets we serve.
    • Together with others, you will utilize Veolia’s bid notification services to identify potential opportunities that result in bringing in new business to the group. You will be the primary point of contact between corporate marketing and the Business Development Team and assist in the creation and implementation of the Veolia brand marketing collateral. 
    • Interface daily with a disciplined use of Salesforce CRM to collate the Team needs. 
    • Act as a secondary focal point with the client and contribute as an ambassador for the Veolia brand.
    • Manage and participate in RFP/RFQ evaluations, and proposal preparation.
    • Perform competitive analysis including assessment of competitor strengths, weaknesses and strategic direction.
    • Must be highly organized to maintain file structures, naming conventions, and ensure data is current real-time.

    EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND

    • Advanced technical skills in data creation and manipulation using the Google platform highly desired. Previous demonstrated experience with Power Point, Word and Excel.  Experience utilizing Salesforce is a plus.
    • Administrative work within a technical or related field or equivalent commercial experience. Knowledge of business development or account management within the Energy & Utilities or Engineering Services industry; including any or all of the following areas: ESCO / Energy Performance Contracting, Microgrids / Distributed Energy, Smart Buildings, Facilities Management, Energy Advisory, Commissioning services, and Consultative businesses.

    KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES:

    • Self-starter and strong team player
    • Knowledge of the energy services and buildings market and trends
    • Ability to lead development of formal RFP/RFQ responses from beginning to end
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with Team members
    • Time management: the ability to organize and manage multiple deadlines
    • Ability to effectively present information

    REQUIRED CERTIFICATION / LICENSES / TRAINING:

    • Must have a valid driver's license with a safe driving record if operating company vehicles.
    • Any Energy Industry relevant certifications / trainings are a plus
