JOB DESCRIPTION

The Streaming Coordinator will make a huge impact by working cross-functionally to take streaming for B1G+ to the next level in coordination with stakeholders from Transmission, Digital, Remote Production, and Engineering. B1G+ is BTN's direct-to-consumer product offering live streaming of over 1,500 non-televised games, next day on-demand archives, and access to BTN's library of previous season classics and originals. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating the acquisition of live events from 14 campuses, inputting pertinent information into encoders to transmit events to streaming provider, connectivity with site, ensure video/audio integrity of streaming events and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure successful, quality streaming on the B1G+ platform. The ideal candidate will have tremendous attention to detail, experience with various transmission formats/encoders, a passion for the direct-to-consumer/streaming environment, and experience working in streaming sports production and operations.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversee the streaming schedule of events and map daily streaming activities in coordination with Transmission, Digital and StudentU

• Set up, encode, connect, and oversee digitally encoded streams of live sports in the B1G+ portfolio in coordination with Quality Control Operators

• Will be the first line of troubleshooting technical issues pertaining to connectivity, communication, and video/audio integrity; work with Digital/StudentU/Big Ten Athletic Department stakeholders to troubleshoot issues with stream delivery under a tight turnaround time

• Support the management of the master streaming schedule (e.g. B1G+, Fox Sports App)

• Develop best practices and workflow for B1G+ productions - organize and determine transmission routes, streamline technical faxes, develop communication processes for quality control of live events

• Contribute to setting KPIs to measure the success of B1G+ productions and develop learnings for further advancement

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

• Bachelor's degree or related field required

• Minimum 1 year experience - including internships, ideally in live linear or streaming sports production and operations

• Experience running live streams for school/college sporting events

• Strategic knowledge and familiarity with streaming media platforms and services

• Understanding of basic TV production terms and procedures; ability to easily interact and collaborate with TV production personnel (e.g. Transmission, Remote Production, Engineering)

• Familiarity with data management and inventory of content

• Proactive problem solver with the ability to prioritize and concurrently handle multiple, time sensitive requests within a high-pressure environment

• Must be able to work non-traditional hours, which will include nights and weekends
