As a student of the Generator Manufacturing department in Schenectady, NY, you will be an active contributor helping deliver Power to customers worldwide.

Job Description

What you'll do (Job Responsibilities)

• You will build foundational expertise through an immersive experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
• This internship will give you a 360-degree view of how energy technology is built, using a foundation of lean
• Work with a team of skilled technicians on the floor, providing support and troubleshooting equipment and process issues to ensure safety, quality and productivity
• In a Quality, Lean, or Manufacturing Engineering focused position, you'll eliminate waste and optimize production
• Conduct root cause analysis to address production issues and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
• Identify opportunities for automation and implement advanced technologies to enhance manufacturing capabilities
• Gain access to senior leaders and dedicated career coaching to help you navigate your path

Required Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate program from an accredited college or university in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline. Energy related majors will be considered.

Other Eligibility Requirements:

• The required work location is Schenectady, NY - 100% onsite.
• Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

• Versatile Problem Solvers: A major in Engineering
• Strong Interpersonal Agility: The ability to connect with and influence individuals at all levels of the organization-from the shop floor to senior management
• Proactive Mindset: A self-starter attitude with a deep commitment to a long-term career in manufacturing and supply chain
• Resilience: The ability to maintain a positive attitude and manage effectively through challenging or high-pressure situations
• Commitment: Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale cumulative GPA (without rounding).
• Experience with Design software (NX, SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar CAD software)
• Experience in Robotics or AI

May or June 2027 to August 2027 (Summer).

In order to meet this mission, we provide varied, competitive benefits to help support our workforce.

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $27.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed.

This position is also eligible for:

Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.

Housing Allowance: Co-op/Interns employees receive a weekly housing allowance to help off-set living expenses when the co-op/Intern's permanent residence is at least 50 miles away from the work location.
