GE Vernova in Bangor is proud to announce the launch of our new Machinist Internship Program. This program is designed to bridge the gap between classroom theory and industrial application, offering a structured, professional environment for those looking to build a career in the skilled trades.

You will be working within our new, dedicated training cell. This specialized space replicates the demands of a real-world production environment, allowing you to gain hands-on experience with industrial machinery without the pressures of the active production floor. It is the ideal setting to master technical skills, focus on quality, and build your confidence under the guidance of your instructor.

INTERNSHIP DATES: Tentative start date in October (program to run 8 weeks)

• Paid internship - starting salary $25/hour
• Learn to machine (at no cost to you) while working for GE Vernova in Bangor
• Intern for GE Vernova Bangor 40 hours/week for 8 weeks*
• After successful completion of the internship, you have an opportunity for full time employment.
• Anticipated full-time positions could be on the following shifts:
  • Days (A shift Monday - Thursday 5:00am - 3:30pm)
  • Evenings (B shift Monday - Thursday 3:30pm - 2:00am)
  • Weekend Days (C shift Friday - Sunday 6:00am - 6:30pm)
  • Weekend Nights (D shift Friday - Sunday 6:00pm - 6:00am)
• Additional incentives for full-time employees:
  • COMPETITIVE HOURLY RATE Full-Time Machinists will start at $35.0748/hour & benefits and continue to progress based on skills obtained through additional trianing
  • Future growth opportunities for skills, specialty roles, and career advancement
  • SHIFT DIFFERENTIALS Evening/Night shifts include a bonus of 10%; Weekend shifts include a differential of 10% -- Weekend nights also include a 10% bonus
  • PAID TIME C&D shifts are paid for 40 hours/week, but only work 36 hours
  • COMPRESSED SCHEDULE Three of four day compressed work week available

Qualifications / Requirements:

• High School Diploma / GED or equivalent
• 18 years of age or older
• Legally authorized to work in the US
• Pass background check and drug screen
• Training/work location is at GE Vernova Bangor

Pay Rate: The starting pay for this position is $25.00. This position is also eligible for the 10% of base wage Night Shift Bonus (NSB). This posting is expected to close August 30th, 2026.
