    About the Role

    The Data Science team is a growing group that works closely with executives and leaders across the company to support the business strategy. As a Data Scientist Intern , you will use rigorous quantitative methods to deliver value to the customers and enable data-driven product development. This would be an outstanding fit for an individual who is hands-on, can work autonomously, and can drive technical efforts building AI/ML solutions. If you love to apply your data science skills against massive interconnected datasets with immediate business impact, then this will be the role for you.

    What Will You Do

    • Collaborate on AI/ML initiatives with other data scientists through the design, development, and deployment phases of ML oriented product features.

    • Follow data science methodologies around model selection, training data set sampling strategy, model validation and monitoring.

    • Partner with the Data Science Infrastructure team through every stage of ML workflow including data ingestion, model building, and model ops.

    • Collaborate actively with Product Management, Engineering and UX to measure the impact of product launches, including validating behavior tracking, defining success metrics, aligning on experimental approaches, and communicating metrics impact.

    Example Projects of a Data Scientist Intern:

    In this role you will get the opportunity to work with different product teams of Meraki. You will get to explore complex and interesting datasets, using which you will build statistical models to help those teams. You will get to work on Quantitative and Qualitative data both. For example:- You will explore which features are getting used by the customers for different products and build statistical models to target new customers using that.

    What Skills You Possess

    • BS or MS in Computer Science / related technical field or equivalent combination of graduate degree and work experience in Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or a quantitative field preferred

    • 1 year of Data Science experience for software products, e.g. networking software, online shopping, financial services etc.

    • Proficiency with Python (or R), SQL, Statistical modeling, AWS tools.

    • Strong written and oral presentation skills. Able to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences

    Bonus Points For:

    • Data mining experience of large datasets.

    • Experience in the Networking industry
