SUMMER 2023 INTERNSHIP (MAY - AUGUST), REMOTE

Meraki is making IT easier, faster, and smarter. As a business unit of Cisco Systems, Meraki is the fastest growing cloud-managed networking team in the world with products and technology architecture that are changing the face of enterprise networking and making cloud-managed IT a reality. Cisco Meraki is on track to be the most successful acquisition in Cisco's history (and certainly the most fun)! Our office makes working here special too. If you're looking for a company that really commits, how about our onsite gym with weekly fitness and yoga classes, and paid time off to volunteer and give back to the community? All in all, what truly makes Meraki special are the people - people who keep the culture strong and make working here exciting, meaningful, and rewarding!

    Enterprise Applications & Infrastructure (EAI)

Meraki's EAI team is a strategic partner to the business; we do this by cultivating a deep understanding of business processes and by acting as a strategic consultant on business needs. The team is involved in technical projects from start to finish -- gathering and documenting requirements, designing and documenting technical solutions, and fully implementing these solutions.

As an engineering intern on the EAI-Engineering team, you are a budding developer. You will use your skills to add, contribute to and grow our software offerings to our business partners. We will have some research and proof of concept projects for you to focus on while you are here. You can also be expected to participate in the development efforts of our team.

    What you'll do:

You will have the opportunity to gain some valuable experience doing development using tools like Salesforce.com, Ruby on Rails, Snowflake, Python, Mulesoft and Tableau. You will learn about how the team works together to get the job done. We will have some development projects ready for you that will expose you to our different technologies.

You will gain experience in working with the EAI-Engineering team in their agile scrum environment. You will also have the satisfaction of seeing your own project through from start to finish. You will be working with tools such as Salesforce, VS Code, Git, Jira, and Confluence.

    Example Projects:

    • Automate reporting on source code analysis. This is the data we use to improve the quality of our code. This project will involve collecting the data and pulling it together in a format that can be reported on. Then, you'll have the opportunity to build a dashboard to display that data.

    • Assist the development team with performance improvement projects. Help the team monitor existing pages/processes and to improve the performance for our users.

    • Work with our DevOps team and learn about how they provide a CI/CD process that the engineers use to push our code from environment to environment, eventually into production.

    Who you are:

    • You are familiar with the Java programming language, excited about technology, and want to solve day-to-day problems using technology. You recognize the potential that Salesforce holds in an organization and are excited to build automation on the platform. Manual, multi-step processes pain you, so you leverage technology to help alleviate this.

    • Including but not limited to an upcoming graduate of a technical degree or certification program from a Technical Boot Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College or 4-Year University

    • Authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future

Cisco is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, genetic information, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected basis. At Cisco Meraki, we're challenging the status quo with the power of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration. When we connect different perspectives, we can imagine new possibilities, inspire innovation, and release the full potential of our people. We're building an employee experience that includes appreciation, belonging, growth, and purpose for everyone.
