POSITION TITLE: Cloud Architecture & Advisory Intern

OFFICE LOCATION: San Ramon, California - Intern will be working remotely.

WORKING HOURS: Full Time

DURATION OF INTERNSHIP: 6 months

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

PROJECT/PROGRAM MANAGEMENT ROLE

• Work with HEC Pricing and Commercialization (HPC) team to plan and deliver a series of knowledge transfer sessions  on new product offerings, new technologies, and new processes to the HEC Cloud Architect team.
• Publish comprehensive directory of CAA resources (e.g. Jira sites, Wiki pages, Jam sites, and other repositories, etc.).
• Review Confirmed Delivery Date (CDD) and Sales-to-Delivery Handover (S2DHO) processes to understand the pain points and make recommendations on how to improve them.  The recommendations would be presented to the management of key stakeholders to get their support and buy-in to move forward with the recommendations.
• Collect requirements from the Cloud Architect community on the features and enhancements they would most like to see in the next version of the online Customer Checklist. Work with the SAP Cloud Platform consulting team to prioritize the requirements, create a project plan including user testing and rollout phases.  Participate in the rollout of the release to the user community.
• Gain an understanding of the technical information required to successfully complete a sales-to-delivery handover, and create a Technical Assessment document to be used as a  template to capture this information in a systematic and precise way.
• Conduct a gap analysis between the current HEC offering on Azure vs. Azure features/capabilities which we are not yet leveraging.  Determine which features would have the greatest benefit to our customers and to the HEC offering.  Create a report which summarizes the findings and make recommendations to the Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS) Portfolio Management team.
• Act as a champion for the Reference Architecture program to help promote interest amongst the CAA community as well as contribute to the Reference Architecture repository.
• Adapt database storage calculation tool to support MaxDB and MS-SQL to determine the total amount of storage required for provisioning and running these databases in Azure, AWS, and GCP.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have at least one semester or grading period completed before the internship can start.
• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's, master's or JD/PhD Program
• Suggested Majors: Software Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain Management (for process skills), MIS, Mathematics
