Cloud DevOps Engineers are responsible for molding scalable tools, infrastructure and processes that enable engineers to develop, test, debug and release software quickly.  You live and love DevOps and will closely partner and collaborate with technical teams to effectively automate and accelerate delivering products and changes.  You will apply your expertise of cloud computing stack, broad software technologies, and open source tools to solve cloud technology platform challenges, push technology forward and be always one step ahead in development platforms, new functionality and APIs.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Provide 24x7 follow the sun model public cloud operations support, AWS, GCP and AZ
• Work directly with L1, L2, and cloud providers to exceed SAP’s line of business expectations
• Write server-side code, create robust high-volume production applications, and develop prototypes quickly
• Build, design and implement scalable cloud-based web applications for PaaS, IaaS or SaaS
• Lead/contribute to engineering efforts planning, organization to execution and delivery to solve complex engineering problems in tools and testing
• Design and build advanced automated frameworks with a focus on a more efficient operating element
• Design and build tooling and infrastructure to help engineering teams measure and increase their velocity
• Drive adoption of DevOps and best practices in culture, code health, testing, and maintainability

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience
• 0-5 years of related devops experience
• Software programming experience in Java, C/C++, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, GO
• Scripting skills in Python, Perl, Bash, Shell or another common language
• Solid understanding of public clouds (i.e. GCP, AWS, AZ)
• Large systems software design and development experience, with experience in Unix/Linux
• Understanding of technologies such as virtualization and global infrastructure, load balancing, networking, security and Operations
• Must be able to work onsite in Palo Alto, CA, local candidates preferred
