  • Responsibilities

    Homebase is a San Francisco-based startup company focused on providing labor management technology to small businesses. We are looking for driven, energetic and engaging individuals to join our team as a Customer Success Rep in the Houston area.

    If you aren't completely committed and looking to join a startup (and yes, a Silicon Valley startup is different than most typical roles), then you should not apply.

    We need folks that are confident in their skills, are considered by their friends to be early adopters of technology, and are willing to go the extra mile every time because you don't know how to function any other way.

    As a Customer Success Rep, you will use your incredible skills and powers to provide a great customer service experience for our clients.

    You will use your great intellect and amazing logical thinking to help solve problems or answer any questions on how to use our application. You won't be afraid to pick up the phone and call our current customers to check in on them or provide post-call support.

    The ideal work-from-home rep is focused and organized, has experience providing customer support over the phone, loves technology and helping small businesses.

    You will have a constant schedule during regular business hours, but we offer flexibility if you need it and will work with you on your schedule availability.

  • Qualifications

    General Requirements:

    • To succeed, you need active listening skills to understand the issue and troubleshoot resolutions

    • You must be self-motivated and have the ability to stay on task and take initiative. You have likely done a similar job before and have no problem with your phone presence or confidence.

    • You must be self-disciplined and be able to operate independently while managing time effectively without close supervision.

    • Ability to present and evaluate the features and benefits of added services. When you're done speaking with one of our clients, they leave feeling better than when they called because you solved their problem (and potentially introduced them to additional features or services that we offer... without being pushy or disingenuous)

    • You'll also need to use appropriate grammar and tone to provide information to customers and problem resolution. This matters. A lot.

    Other Requirements:

    • High school diploma, but some college experience preferred

    • Have a distraction free, quiet, ergonomically satisfactory work environment

    • Meet all equipment/internet connectivity and phone requirements

    • Pass a background and drug screen

    • Prior experience working in a restaurant or small business preferred

    • 1+ years of customer service experience preferred

    • Prior call center experience preferred (outbound / inbound / sales)

    Technology Requirements:

    • Computer with the following requirements: Mac or Windows 7 or greater, 1 GHz Processor or greater, minimum 4 GB RAM, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, and FireFox Browsers

    • High Speed DSL or Cable Modem Internet Service

    • Basic Residential Telephone Service or cell phone plan with unlimited minutes

    This is a contract position to start but our goal is to make successful candidates part of the company (which would include health insurance contribution)

    *Must be available in Houston for in-person training.
