    PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

    We, at the Pittsburgh Supply Chain Management team under the Products & Innovation board area, cater to innovations across product areas like Inventory Optimization (IBP for Inventory) and Demand Sensing (IBP for Demand) and Demand Driven Replenishment (IBP for DDMRP).

    As a Developer Associate on the IBP team, you will be working on the development of SAP’s leading solution for Supply Chain Planning in the Cloud based on HANA. SAP has been the market leader in Enterprise Software for more than 40 years. Today, innovation continues to flourish at SAP with HANA in Memory Database at the core of the next generation of Enterprise Applications. The main focus of the position is the development of the IBP for Inventory module within the IBP Platform, but it can also extend to other modules that are also developed by our local teams in Pittsburgh like Demand Sensing or Demand Driven Supply Network.

    EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

    • Works in a cross functional team and responsible for development focusing on coding and testing of software features under the mentoring or coaching of an experienced developer using ABAP, SAP GUI, ABAP Eclipse Development, AMDPs, HANA, HANA Studio, SQL Script, etc.
    • Demonstrates full responsibility for accepted tasks and therefore demonstrates a good level of quality, speed, reliability and efficiency within area of work in accordance with team's plan
    • Acquires basic knowledge of products and processes with limited or no design responsibility
    • Acquires knowledge of products and processes
    • Has basic knowledge of relevant programming languages and related development tools and processes
    • Implements and executes programming, test and quality assurance related activities according guidance from colleagues
    • Writes unit tests for own code using AUNIT
    • Prepares tests, authors and executes manual and automated tests
    • Documents code and test results
    • Documents root cause analysis, workarounds and solutions on internal and customer incidents
    • Supports, provides maintenance and bug fixes on IBP for Inventory customer installations

     

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related Engineering field
    • Knowledge Databases, SQL and a Database Scripting Languages
    • Understanding of Object-Oriented Programming and its fundamental principles
    • Analytical Thinking and Problem-Solving abilities expressing solutions in code
    • Process and detailed oriented
    • Self-motivated working attitude
    • Ability and desire to learn new technologies and skills, specifically SAP related technology like HANA, ABAP, FIORI
    • Ability to communicate well within a diverse team and with other teams around the globe
    • Flexibility and ability to adapt quickly to changes
    • Skills working with HANA and writing SQL Script preferred
    • Programming skills in ABAP and SAP technologies preferred
    • Understanding of the SCRUM process preferred
    • Skills developing in Java and JavaScript is a plus

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    This is a junior level position; however, previous working experience is a plus.
