As a ConsenSys intern, you will be embedded with one of our product teams and receive 1-to-1 mentorship while making real contributions towards building the Internet of tomorrow. • Contributed theoretical research to the Ethereum Foundation
• Published among the earliest decompositions of the DAO hack
• Helped INFURA scale to serve more than 40 million requests per day
• Contributed code to uPort, Boardroom, Weifund, the Proof-of-Physical-Address project, and the original Ujo Music prototype—one of the most heavily transacted-with smart contracts in the first six months of the Ethereum mainnet.

About RAPID

RAPID is a team within ConsenSys focused on the building of quick and dirty technological solutions to bring the ideas of the Mesh to life.

Through the collective consciousness of the Mesh, an immense backlog of unbelievable ideas has been amassed. The most promising of these ideas require further exploration, to determine their potential worth and/or merit. Instead of developing a dedicated spoke or circle around each of these ideas, the goal of RAPID is to quickly tackle the exploration of these ideas through RAPID development, deployment, and internal dogfooding of technological solutions – to prove their worth before further investment of time and resources is allocated.

Through this RAPID prototyping process, we are additionally laying the groundwork for the quick and easy deployment of dApps in general. Because our specialty is moving fast, we are simultaneously building the tools and processes which allow others to move fast along with us towards a decentralized future.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with our team to RAPIDly deliver new offerings and a great UX.
• Help plan and develop the direction of new offerings.
• Assume ownership of the design of specific UI/UX components, and craft them from start to finish (with support from the RAPID team).
• Help design the overall aesthetic and feel of our products and technologies.
• Stay up-to-date on technical options and help select the right technology for each task.

Experience and Skills

• Have a strong sense of ownership and pride in your work
• Be highly collaborative, build good relationships with colleagues, and communicate clearly
• Since you will be part of a small team that is focused on getting things done, you should be able to take initiative – this will be the key to your success
• Be comfortable with fluid requirements and have the ability to pivot easily
• Be passionate about building products that users will love, and that will hopefully change the world
• Possess basic blockchain and Ethereum knowledge, and be passionate about our space
• Experience with design software and technologies
• Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
• Possess the ability to accurately express technical concepts and ideas in a creative format
• Available to work 15 to 40 hours per week during the fall semester

Nice to Have OR Bonus Points

• Degree in Design, Fine Arts or related field is a plus
• Portfolio of example design projects
• Familiarity with Decentralized Identity, Decentralized Identifiers, and Verifiable Claims
• Experience with agile development
• San Francisco preferred; remote is fine.
