    THE TEAM – THE INDUSTRY BUSINESS UNIT (IBU) MILL PRODUCTS & MINING

     

    The Mill Products & Mining industries span one of the largest industries by revenue and is among the leaders in S/4 adoption, serving both major global clients in and a significant midmarket segment. In many of our verticals, SAP is a clear market leader.

     

    Mill Products & Mining covers heavy asset-intensive industries at the intersection of natural resources, process- and discrete manufacturing. including the metals industry, forest products, paper and packaging, the building materials industry, and mining.

     

    KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND TASKS

     

    The IBU Mill Products & Mining’s core responsibilities are to drive and execute business development and market penetration for relevant SAP solutions within the industry, including software revenue results, solution completeness and portfolio strategy, partner offering, sales cycle support, industry community representation and senior executive level communication.

     

    EXPECTATIONS & TASKS

     

    We are looking for a working student that can support the 2 important projects we are driving from our team:

     

    SUPPORT MARKET ANALYSIS, STRATEGY, AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT FOR MILL PRODUCTS & MINING IN NORTH AMERICA:

     

    CONTEXT: North America is the largest market for our cluster of industries in Mill Products & Mining, and we believe we need to get smarter to capture it. Part of this will be to better understand the opportunity to develop a solid & executable go-to-market plan and business development strategy. We will not be able to this purely through SAP resources, so we need to also look at how SAP and partners can play together to win.

     

    • Analyze market potential by industry subvertical, region, and customer size, type of accounts to drive segmentation and the IBU’s go-to-market strategy
    • Analysis includes IDC market model, SAP direct and indirect revenue, pipeline, SAP customer base.

     

    SUPPORT COMMUNICATIONS, SOCIAL MEDIA MARKETING, AND INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL COMMUNITY MANAGEMENT:

     

    CONTEXT: We are a small team of global experts & thought leaders. We need to be able to get the stories & content we create to our internal and external customer when, and where, and how they need it - in an easily consumable, attractive way that captures the attention, without damaging the brand of SAP (aka compliantly with GDPR and marketing guidelines). Covid has accelerated the switch to digital & virtual even more but has also made it much harder to stand out among thousands of emails, and webinars.

    We need you to:

    • Create and maintain the SAP internal community pages on SAP Jam
    • Editorial work for the creation of a newsletter for the Mill Products and Mining industry
    • Support content creation in SAP’s new Customer Engagement Platform and story boards, and SAP Digital Library
    • Support social selling & community development campaigns on Twitter, LinkedIn
    • Collaboration in the execution of innovative projects and events with SAP industry marketing and SAP IBU communication and social media experts, and marketeers from SAP partner companies
  • Qualifications

    SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

     

    • Student (f/m/d) - preferred field(s) of study: MARKETING, ECONOMICS
    • Computer skills: Good Knowledge of MS-Office esp. Excel
    • Language skills:  Fluency in English – Spanish, Russian or German as additional languages welcome
    • Fast learner with ability to quickly grasp terminology & concepts in a new field
    • Good communication and writing skills: You will need to write anything from tweets, LinkedIn posts, abstracts, and short texts targeted at an exec business audience
    • Team player - you will be part of a international team in various time zones & culture, including non-native speakers; You will need to be able to collaborate & communicate effectively in a remote team synchronously and asynchronously through MS Teams, Zoom, email, phone
    • Highly independent, structured and analytical working approach
    • Strong experience in MSFT Office tools (PowerPoint, XLS)
     
    

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

     

    • Some understanding of SAP product portfolio
    • Experience / background in one of the industries we cover (metals, forest products, packaging, construction materials, mining, …)

     

    WORK EXPERIENCE:

     

    • Ideally with work experience in a larger enterprise
