  • Responsibilities

    PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE:

    The Innovation Center Network creates the SAP beyond tomorrow. We generate new technologies and business models for SAP in a highly creative environment by incubating new ideas, demonstrating feasibility of new technologies, supporting board level initiatives, and exploring research topics from different universities.  We also work with our field organizations to identify high value business scenarios and enable innovation for strategic customers.

    With our new outpost at the UCI Cove, this intern will support the business development activities of the SAP SoCal team within the Innovation Center Network organization. They will help establish roots and foster relationships with the ecosystem in Orange County.

     

    EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS:

    As part of the internship with the Innovation Center Network, you will receive opportunities unlike any other experience. Some responsibilities you will be bestowed upon including but not limited to:

    • Supporting various event and meetup activities at the UCI Cove like registration, setup, and planning
    • Supporting the SAP Innovation Center Network in building a network and presence in the entrepreneurial community in Orange County and help us identify opportunities to position our content
    • Interacting with the community on behalf of SAP, promoting the Innovation Center's initiatives in Southern California and represent SAP's Chief Innovation Officer at local events.
    • Assisting and reacting quickly to urgent requests from management and executives
    • Creating and editing marketing collateral for social media activities including: Event promotions, blogs, content design, etc.
    • Follow-up and nurture community interactions.
    • Establishing and supply a Customer Database (CRM)
    • Be SAP’s liaison to the UCI and create meaningful connections to academia and research for future projects
    • Be prepared to be recognized as a leader, influencer, and driver of the SAP presence in Southern California.

    EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    The ideal candidate is a polymath who can take on multiple responsibilities, tasks, creative problem-solver and duties across a wide-range of disciplines. The candidate must also be ready and willing to wear many hats and adapt to a fast-moving and constantly evolving business landscape.  Therefore, the ideal candidate must exhibit the following qualifications for consideration:

    • Unwavering attention to detail
    • Strong analytical and creative mind-set
    • Tenaciousness in finding the right solutions to problems 
    • Possess a “never quit” attitude
    • Excellent verbal and communication skills required
    • Ability, willingness, and aptitude to learn SAP enterprise software
    • Expert knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)
    • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite preferred
    • Experience with content promotion through Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Eventbrite
    • Have the availability and means to work on-site at the UCI Cove for 20 hours per week.
    • Design Thinking knowledge is a great plus

    Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program preferably in one or more of the following courses of study:

    • Business Administration
    • Business Development
    • Sales & Marketing
    • Communications
    • Mathematics
    • Statistics
    • Computer Science
