Global Cloud Services (GCS) is responsible for running SAP’s backend technology including operations of state-of-the-art data centers and the technical platforms as an integral part and foundation for all SAP Cloud solutions and services around the globe. We provide these shared services for SAP’s external Cloud Business and also for SAP’s internal infrastructure such as development, training, or demo landscapes.

The Cloud Services Intern is focused on supporting the delivery of cloud services.  The Cloud Services Intern assists in the delivery of products and services to Cloud LOBs in order to optimize/automate business processes, improve work efficiency and provide support.

In this role as Capacity Management Intern, the candidate will support the development, implementation and operation of our specific Cloud Platform Capacity Management practices as needed with direction from the Platform Resource Managers in Newtown Square.  This could involve coordination across all multiple GCS delivery units and engagement with lines of business responsible for SAP Cloud solution delivery via the Service Management units.

The Capacity Management Intern will be given the opportunity to support and contribute to the implementation of standardized capacity measurements (KPIs); development, implementation & operation of an automated reporting dashboard; delivery of regular capacity reporting to key stakeholders and management.

EXPECTATION AND TASKS

• Supporting of the GCS Capacity Management Program
• Take meeting minutes for the regular reviews of Service Component capacity data and analysis with domain expert(s)
• Assist with regular reporting on Capacity Status and the Capacity Management Process
• Present outcomes and recommendations to the Global Capacity Management Coordinator
• Contribute to the maturity of the practice through Continuous Improvement of the Process, Measures & Tools
• Support Implementation of the Process into new Cloud Solution Units

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

•  Current or recently graduated student with a major in an IT or Computer Science related area
• Requires candidates to currently be enrolled in an undergraduate, Masters, MBA or PhD degree program which is applicable to the position.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

• Basic knowledge of data center infrastructure and related technologies
• Basic knowledge of Cloud Computing
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel data manipulation and pivot tables
• Proficiency with working in Microsoft PowerPoint
• Ability to work in a globally distributed organization and eagerness to work with people of other cultures
• Ability to learn quickly and work independently when required
• Excellent Communication skills
• Some knowledge in Demand Management & Capacity Management / ITIL v3 certification (not required)
• Experience in Process and Quality standards
• Experience in Process Governance, process KPI and controlling
• Experience in Project Management
• Ability to support complex global activities or projects across multiple organizational units
