PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

Technology & Innovation (T&I) is responsible for SAP’s overall platform and technology development such as SAP Cloud Platform and SAP HANA. In addition, T&I drives the incubation and adoption of intelligent technologies like Analytics, SAP Leonardo Machine Learning and IoT across SAP’s product portfolio. The T&I board area is also in charge of SAP’s global innovation agenda and builds new business model- and market driven innovations to help customers realize the most business value.

It is our mission to infuse all enterprise applications with machine learning and to empower our customers to make the most of their business data. As an Intern, Frontend Developer on our Conversational AI team, you will be using your advanced JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills to implement and improve features in our React-based frontend-applications. You will work closely with product owners to understand the product requirements and designers to implement the user interface of our platform with modern tools.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

• Collaborate with experienced designers to iterate on the platform
• Build efficient and reusable frontend systems
• Find and address performance issues
• Participate in design and code reviews

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Pursuing Bachelors, Masters or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science or related field.
• Commanding grasp of HTML, CSS, and related web technologies
• Proven ability to work with JavaScript
• Good understanding of REST APIs and their development
• A real passion for a clean and structured code, and communication about best-practices

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with web applications using React & Redux
• Proven experience with test automation and continuous integration
• Past experience with backend engineering
• Experience with natural language understanding technologies and prior experience with building bots on https://cai.tools.sap is a huge plus

LOCATION: Palo Alto, CA, USA for 3+ months
