    PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

    We are seeking a highly motivated student who would like to learn how to be a quality analyst. We are wanting someone to proactively learn and test all portions of Retail applications starting with user interfaces. More specifically, this analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to the quality of this topic and newer topics to be developed by their team in future projects. This person would also work with other teams doing various forms of testing if and when needed. 

    SAP’s Retail organization is targeting a market with huge growth potential worldwide. Our development teams are creating cloud applications for SAP in Germany, USA, Canada, Asia and India.  Our mission is to deliver highly scalable solutions addressing all areas of the Retail business. While leveraging SAP’s generic solutions, we significantly extend the core components.  At the same time, we own trade specific components to support the retail business and analytical optimization and forecasting scenarios.

    EXPECTATIONS & TASKS

    • Responsible for test case creation
    • Test case management for team and additional testers if needed
    • Ability to work closely and effectively with others
    • End to end testing of the retail applications on a takt and release basis
    • Log defects found in the code
    • Re-test defects once they have been fixed
    • Experience in automation testing a plus
    • Work in a scrum team using Agile methodologies
    • Flexible work schedule based on the global teams you might work with

  • Qualifications

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Current student studying Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Business and a desire to work with software

     QUALIFICATIONS   

    • Able to work 24-40 hours in a paid internship
    • Able to work at least 6 months with the potential to extend that time
    • Must be able to work onsite at our office located at the 202 and Priest in Tempe
    • Fluent English speaker – second language highly desired
    • Desire and enthusiasm

    • Flexibility to learn new technologies is an asset
    • Ability to communicate well, present to small teams, and receive feedback/direction from peers/management
    • Ability to take on small projects and see them through to completion
    • Ability to take initiative and be proactive to solve problems
    • Able to work independently after training
    • Someone who likes to find issues – likes to ‘break’ the application they are working on
    • Some Knowledge of Database concepts is an asset
    • Some Knowledge of SQL is an asset
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
    • Agile development knowledge (Scrum, TDD, and Continuous Integration) is an asset
    • Understanding of the LEAN methodology in Software Development is an asset
