    PURPOSE & OBJECTIVE OF POSITION

    SAP Retail Development Team in Tempe, AZ is seeking an extremely proactive and motivated User Assistance Developer Intern to create technical communication enabling users to deploy, administer and use SAP software worldwide. This is a paid 6 months internship.  Bring your passion and dedication to SAP’s world class software to ensure continued quality of product deliveries.

    EXPECTATIONS & TASKS

    • Creates user assistance (UA) deliverables that enable users to deploy, administer, and use SAP software. UA deliverables include, but are not limited to, terminology, UI texts, guides, multimedia, scripts, context-sensitive help, tutorials, and social-media content.
    • Collaborates and communicates, as applicable, with internal stakeholders, such as subject-matter experts, user experience (UX), development, validation, and product support.
    • Applies all relevant SAP standards and guidelines for the given product/area, and ensures UA deliverables are aligned with them, as well as with the content architecture.
    • Follows relevant industry and technology trends for user assistance, as applicable, at SAP.
    • Additional tasks may include testing relevant applications to ensure product is ready for release as well as works as designed.
    • Test product functionality to ensure product works as documented and for accuracy of UA deliverables.
    • Proofreads and edits content for relevance and linguistic correctness, as well as for terminology that is simple, consistent, and that conforms to industry standards. Submits content for language editing to a UA colleague with first-language proficiency, if required, to ensure high-quality deliverables in the source language.
    • May collaborate and communicate with external stakeholders such as customers and partners to develop and review UA deliverables through, for example, customer engagement activities, social media, usability tests, and feedback channels.
    • Collaborates with team members and/or cross-functional teams within the SAP Tempe, AZ office and global locations.
    • The candidate must be assertive and proactive to resolve issues requiring resolutions in a timely manner or based on project timelines.

    CONTRACT DURATION: 6 MONTHS CONTRACT HOURS: 20 HOURS/WEEK DURING SCHOOL; 40 HOURS/WEEK DURING SUMMER ANTICIPATED START DATE: FEBRUARY 2019

  • Qualifications

    SKILLS / COMPETENCIES

    • Individual has “power user” experience/advanced skills using products such as MS Excel, MS Project, etc.
    • Experience with screen recording and capture tools (e.g., Camtasia), is a plus but not required.
    • Experience with multimedia authoring tools is a plus, but not required.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Candidate must be enrolled in a college/university degree program.  Students pursuing degrees in Journalism, Marketing, Business (Communication or Technology) Engineering Management, Industrial Engineering or another related field should apply.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Must be able to work 20 hours during school; 40 hours during summer.
    • No relocation provided, and candidate must be able work from the SAP Tempe, AZ office.
