    The MBA Strategy Principal Intern, Corporate Strategy at SAP Concur is a dedicated role responsible for mid to long range thinking to design and execute strategic initiatives in close partnership with functional leaders across the organization. There are three main areas of focus for the role.

    1. CORPORATE STRATEGY: Design strategic initiatives to drive growth in international markets and market whitespaces. Develop a deep understanding of the tech ecosystem and monitor key market trends in specific areas of interest to Concur (business travel and intelligent spend management areas).

    2. BUSINESS TRANSFORMATION: Work end-to-end on projects that can range from product incubation and growth strategies, partnership diligence, pricing, business model innovation, and operational excellence.

    3. CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT/M&A: Identify and evaluate important strategic opportunities for the company across the travel management and intelligent spend space.

     

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop a keen understanding of, and monitor key technology and market trends in specific areas of interest to Concur, maintaining point of view of market landscape of the spend management and travel ecosystem, including emerging startup companies, market sizing, relative competitive advantage, and business models
    • Develop strategic rationale, create business cases, and conduct company and industry due diligence to support investment or strategic business development activities including international market expansion initiatives with a key focus on China
    • Develop strong relationships both cross-functionally as well as with a diverse set of internal and external partners – startups, bankers, venture capitalists, industry thought leaders.
    • Support corporate development investment strategy by screening potential deals, analyzing market strategies, deal requirements, financial implications and internal priorities

     

     REQUIREMENTS

    • Prior experience in consulting or investment banking preferred
    • MBA from a top tier institution required
    • Strong quantitative and valuation skills (DCF analysis, comps, etc), as well as demonstrable analytical thinking.
    • Works well in a small form office of the president team & with executive level management

     

    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Required to be based in New York or Seattle. Global travel will be required occasionally (0-10%)
