What is SAP iXp?

SAP’s Internship Experience Project is a paid program that gives university students the space to find purpose in their careers. What you'll do:

You will be working in the DevOps team of the Cloud operations of SAP Ariba. SAP Ariba is the leader in on demand procurement spends and buyer-supplier network. DevOps is responsible for tooling and monitoring for the cloud infrastructure that manages the data center operations. DevOps team builds solutions that cater to the needs of DB Administrators, System Admins, Application teams, Network engineers, Security functional, Site reliability engineers etc. You would have an excellent opportunity to get exposure to all these functional areas to learn and to contribute what would be a useful solution to these teams

You would be working on the reliable delivery of the solutions that get rolled out in the cloud operations. You will learn about CI/CD which are industry standard terms and will focus on reliable delivery that is quintessential for a large-scale cloud production operations. You will learn about the monitoring and deployment solutions for private and public clouds (Azure, AWS). You will get exposed to CNCF – cloud-native cloud foundation technologies. You will have an opportunity to research some of the industry standards – and cloud solutions employed by Google/AWS/Facebook etc and apply the best practices.

Position Tasks:

  • Provide automated tools for reliable delivery
  • Provide solutions needed for deployment and monitoring
  • Employ workflow and approval techniques using tools like Jenkins
  • Familiarize with version control systems like GIT/perforce and provide hooks to Jenkins
  • Will be working in tools such as docker, PERL, Python, SALT, GIT, Jenkins, TICK stack, Hashi tools (Vagrant, Nomad, Consul, Vault)

Qualifications

Who you are:

We’re looking for someone who can challenge the status quo and likes to stay curious. You enjoy working on meaningful projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

  • Ideally you are enthusiastic, willing to learn new things, research and propose logical solutions to the problem statement.
  • You are currently enrolled in an undergraduate (Junior or Senior), Masters, PhD degree program which is applicable to the position, preferably studying Computer Science or minoring in computer science
  • You have good programming and logical skills and understand the use cases of the different Ops functions
