ABOUT THE TEAM:

SAP Concur’s Data Science team provides Machine Learning solutions to a number of applications within the Concur ecosystem. Our data scientists leverage extremely large datasets of travel and expense data to train models that can automate many aspects of our clients’ experience. We work collaboratively with engineers and developers across the company to embed this functionality into a number of client-facing products, showcasing the power of AI when used to tackle very challenging business problems. We are very proud of being an end-to-end team that has the ability to extract knowledge from raw data and, through our several partnerships, to expose that directly to our clients.  If you have a research-oriented mindset and are a collaborative team player who is passionate about deep learning and all other aspects of Data Science, being part of our strong technical team is your dream opportunity.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

POSITION TITLE: SAP Concur iXp Intern- Data Science

LOCATION: Bellevue, Washington (Virtual)

EXPECTED START DATE TO END DATE: June 2021 -August 2021

IN THIS ROLE, YOU  WILL:

• Train, evaluate and deploy Python-based machine learning models that will add functionality to our existing products. You’ll have the opportunity to take your ideas from conception to production with the support of our engineering team.
• Implement APIs and microservices that can be used to expose new functionality to our products, leveraging deep (and traditional) learning models that you will train using our large sets of image and text data.
• Learn what it takes to successfully deploy and monitor machine learning solutions in a production environment.

WHO YOU ARE:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Candidates currently enrolled in an undergraduate, masters or PhD degree program in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Math, or similar quantitative field.
• Strong programming skills in Python
• Hands-on experience training and evaluating complex ML models in TensorFlow and Scikit-learn
• Passion about data! Whether that’s generating data visualizations, presenting on the results of an experiment during our knowledge sharing sessions, or learning about the latest AI developments, you love this stuff.
• Strong communication skills that include the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Preferred experience: familiarity with the AWS Stack, Deep Learning, Docker, REST APIs, Spark, Microservices, Image Analysis. Mobile development experience is also a plus.
