ABOUT THE TEAM:

The SAP Concur Intelligence R&D team comprises of 2 major geographical locations: Atlanta and Bellevue. We work with many upstream teams in many more geographically diverse locations that provision data to the Reporting Data warehouse, so we embody a team that has many opportunities to learn different data domains across the company.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

POSITION TITLE: SAP Concur iXp Intern – Software Engineering

LOCATION: Atlanta, GA

EXPECTED START DATE TO END DATE: June 2020 – August 2020

IN THIS ROLE, YOU’LL:

The Software Engineer Intern will work on processes that move data from various source systems to a data warehouse. We move data by connecting our processes to source databases, we have processes that listen to live events that are published by upstream services. Our microservices are also responsible in transforming and connecting various pieces of data across our different data domains i.e. Travel, Expense and Invoice.

You will learn:

1. How to work with docker to run microservices
2. How to deploy code through various pipelines into Kubernetes infrastructure
3. How to use kibana and kubectl (Kubernetes client) to watch service health and manage scale
4. The Different architectural choices made to support live event data vs nightly jobs that move data once a day
5. How to work with the different database types for the different needs our business unit has
6. Unit testing as a requirement to build quality code
7. Design patterns
8. How to build microservices

WHO YOU ARE:

We’re looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stays curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

• Candidates to currently be enrolled in an undergraduate or masters degree program which is applicable to the position (computer science or equivalent proven experience).
• Strong programming skills in Java, SQL
• Strong communication skills that include the ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment working with multiple teams across various geographies
• Preferred experience: Spring, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
