    ABOUT THE TEAM:

    US SMB (small, midsized business) Client Marketing is responsible for retaining and growing 25,000 SAP Concur customers. This represents the company’s single largest customer base, over $80 million in annual cross-sell revenues, and over $0.5 billion in recurring revenue under management.

     

    You as an MBA summer intern will plan and execute one or more strategic projects to improve how the US SMN client marketing team engages, retains, and develops its client base. You’ll need to put your MBA and marketing toolkit to work and gather quantitative and qualitative data, conduct analyses, formulate conclusions, and develop actionable, impact-driving recommendations.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO:

     

    POSITION TITLE: SAP Concur iXp Intern – US SMB Client Marketing

    LOCATION: Bellevue, WA

    EXPECTED START DATE TO END DATE: June 2020 -August 2020

    POTENTIAL PROJECTS COULD INCLUDE:

    • Updating the team’s understanding of customer communication preferences across firm types and audience types, and formulating recommendations to alter client engagement and messaging strategies
    • Developing a deeper go-to-market strategy for SAP Concur’s smallest tranche of customers, which currently entails digital and reactive customer success engagement only
    • Creating a new client marketing segmentation strategy, partnering with our data science team to identify new tranches or clusters
    • Uncovering new ways to develop situational marketing programs that deliver customized content and messages that respond to what a client’s business is experiencing in real time (e.g. M&A, global expansion)
    • Determining new ways to reduce customer churn rate during the implementation phase of the customer lifecycle
    • Formulating a strategy to take our nascent digital store to the next level

     

    There are many possibilities, and one or two key projects can be determined based on business need at the time, your skillset, and your passion.

     

    Curiosity, strategic and analytical thinking, communication, collaboration and organization are vital in this role in order to conduct analyses, engage stakeholders, and formulate meaningful recommendations.  

     

    This is an exciting challenge and a great opportunity to help take SAP Concur’s US SMN division into a new CX-based era where touch points are personalized, marketing engines are scaled, and breakthrough growth is delivered. Other divisions within SAP Concur and other SAP lines of business will surely take note of the innovation that you spearhead. 

     

    The position reports to the Director of US SMN Client Marketing.   

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Partner with your manager / day-to-day supervisor to select and plan hone or more research or business / go-to-market strategy projects with insights, conclusions and actionable recommendations
    • Execute the project by gathering data, partnering with stakeholders, conducting primary and secondary research, vetting conclusions and socializing recommendations prior to developing a final deliverable
